Janitor

Job Summary:
The Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in assigned areas, including offices, restrooms, hallways, and other facilities. Duties include sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and ensuring sanitary conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors and surfaces.
  • Empty trash bins and replace liners.
  • Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs, fixing leaks).
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards.
  • Follow all safety and cleaning protocols.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Previous janitorial or cleaning experience (preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
  • Physical stamina to perform cleaning duties.

Baseball Youth Sports Program Intern

Job Summary: The YVITS Intern will assist in the coordination and execution of baseball training sessions, games, and events for young athletes. This role provides hands-on experience in sports management, coaching, and event planning within a youth baseball environment. The intern will support staff, interact with participants, and help ensure a safe and engaging atmosphere for all involved. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in organizing and facilitating youth baseball practices, games, and events. 
  • Support coaches in training drills, skill development activities, and game-day operations. 
  • Ensure equipment is set up and maintained before and after sessions. 
  • Engage with young athletes, providing encouragement and guidance. 
  • Help coordinate schedules, registration, and communication with parents and participants. 
  • Assist in social media content creation, marketing efforts, and community outreach. 
  • Ensure a safe and positive environment by following program policies and procedures. 
  • Perform administrative tasks such as record-keeping, attendance tracking, and logistics planning. 

Qualifications: 

  • Passion for youth sports, baseball, and mentorship. 
  • Strong communication and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment. 
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. 
  • Previous experience in coaching, playing baseball, or working with children is a plus.

Compensation and Hours: 

Monday – Friday, 4PM – 8PM; $25/hour (schedule subject to change based on games/tournament schedule)
 


After-School Tutor

Roles & Responsibilities: 

● Provide group and individual tutoring sessions to program participants Monday through Thursday for up to 4 hours per day. 

● Assess students' academic needs and tailor tutoring sessions to address specific challenges. 

● Monitor and report on students' progress, offering feedback to participants and program staff as needed. 

● Develop strategies to engage students and make learning accessible and enjoyable. 

● Collaborate with program staff to identify students in need of academic support and design effective intervention plans. 

● Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment for all participants. 

Required Experience and/or qualifications: 

● Experience providing academic tutoring, preferably in a school or after-school program setting. 

● Strong knowledge of core academic subjects, with an emphasis on areas where students typically struggle. 

● Ability to connect with and motivate students, fostering a positive attitude toward learning. 

● Excellent communication and organizational skills. 

● Commitment to helping students achieve their academic and personal goals 

Reports to: Program Manager 

Employee or Contractor: Part-time Contractor
