Accountant

  

Roles & Responsibilities: 


  • Complying with all organizations, funder, local, state, and federal accounting, and financial regulations. 
  •  Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data. 
  •  Creating periodic reports, such as balance sheets, statements, etc. 
  •  Presenting data to executives and board members.
  •  Maintaining accurate financial records. 
  •  Performing audits and resolving discrepancies. 
  •  Computing taxes. 
  • Keeping informed about current legislation relating to finance and accounting. 
  •  Assisting management in the decision-making process by preparing budgets and financial forecasts. 
  •  Preparing Periodic Financial Reports (PFR) for government funded grants.


Required Experience and/or qualifications: 


  •  Special licenses or certification may be required. 
  •  Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills. 
  •  Understanding of mathematics and accounting and financial processes. 
  •  Attention to detail. 


Reports to: Chief Executive Officer & Program Director

Human Resources(HR) Professional

 Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Create and implement comprehensive staff policies and procedures that align with organizational goals and legal requirements.
  •  Establish and maintain workplace safety guidelines to ensure a secure environment for employees, contractors, and volunteers.
  •  Identify and recommend quality insurance plans for staff.
  •  Implement and oversee a bi-weekly payroll system, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Manage timesheets and related processes to maintain accurate employee records.
  •  Ensure compliance with federal and state legal regulations to minimize legal risks for the organization.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Program Director to effectively manage the workforce, fostering a supportive and productive workplace culture.
  •  Proactively identify and address potential legal risks associated with staff, contractors, and volunteers.


Required Experience and/or qualifications:


  •  Proven experience in human resources management, preferably in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
  •  Comprehensive understanding of federal and state labor laws and regulations.
  •  Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  •  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  •  Proficiency in HR software, payroll systems, and timesheet management tools.
  •  Demonstrated ability to create and implement HR policies, procedures, and guidelines.


Reports to: Chief Executive Officer & Program Director

Employee or Contractor: Contractor
 

After-School Tutor

Roles & Responsibilities: 


  •  Provide group and individual tutoring sessions to program participants Monday through Thursday for up to 4 hours per day. 
  •  Assess students' academic needs and tailor tutoring sessions to address specific challenges. 
  •  Monitor and report on students' progress, offering feedback to participants and program staff as needed. 
  •  Develop strategies to engage students and make learning accessible and enjoyable. 
  •  Collaborate with program staff to identify students in need of academic support and design effective intervention plans. 
  •  Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment for all participants. 

Required Experience and/or qualifications: 


  •  Experience providing academic tutoring, preferably in a school or after-school program setting. 
  •  Strong knowledge of core academic subjects, with an emphasis on areas where students typically struggle. 
  •  Ability to connect with and motivate students, fostering a positive attitude toward learning. 
  •  Excellent communication and organizational skills. 
  •  Commitment to helping students achieve their academic and personal goals 


Reports to: Program Manager 

Employee or Contractor: Part-time Contractor 


Compensation: $30/hour; after school hours; flexible schedule.
